Myopractic / Bowen therapy

Myopractic is a therapy based on specific diagnostic and assessment methods together with a distinguished cross-fibre muscle manipulation.

This therapy achieves successful outcomes in a wide range of acute and chronic conditions that can affect us all, from babies that are first born to the elderly.

Myopractic has advanced and evolved from Tom Bowen’s teachings by Dr Neil Skilbeck. The technique of Myopractic is performed by using thumb and fingers to releases neuro-muscular lesions within the dysfunctional muscle. When the typical cross fibre technique is applied a sensory nerve carries its signal to the central nervous system creating a motor nerve response of release at the site of the lesion.

This then allows the soft tissue and bones to return to their correct positions, encouraging the body’s natural healing mechanism.

Myopractic can help with:

  • Back and neck pain and injuries
  • Sciatica pain
  • Arm, hip and leg injuries
  • Postural imbalances and muscular pains
  • Pregnancy pains and stresses
  • Shoulder restrictions
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Hormonal and fertility issues
  • Reflux and colic
  • Organ Balancing

And many more

As Myopractic works with diagnosing the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms, long-term results can be achieved.

Following treatment

It is important to follow the after treatment guidelines,

  • Drinking plenty of water,
  • walking often,
  • no heat packs or hot water bottles,
  • On the day of treatment, not to sit longer for 30 minutes. This helps the body achieve the best possible results from the treatment.

Your therapist will also provide you with specific stretches or exercises to help rehabilitate the appropriate muscles and maintain optimum body structure.
